Hair DON'T of the Week

Hello my Darlings,
Yesterday I didn't have time to write my Hair Don't post, so I'm making it up today.
This week's Hair Don't is red hair dye.
Let me start off by saying this- hair is kind of precious. When you dye your hair repeatedly, it starts to get weak and break. If you have long and thick, gorgeous hair, after you dye it even once, it takes FOREVER to grow out. Some companies claim that their product makes your hair grow super fast. None of that works. So my point is, once you dye/bleach your hair, it takes a really long time to grow back to normal. You could always get it dyed back to your original color professionally, but that can be expensive, and is a bit of a hassle.
Anyway, back to red hair dye. Recently, one of my friends dyed her hair bright red. She got her aunt to dye it, so it wasn't done professionally. She started by bleaching her hair- meaning she took all color out of her pretty brunette locks. So now her actual hair color is white. Then she died her hair five times in a garish shade of red. Because it wasn't done professionally, she missed spots, and around her hairline is bleached out, and not red. Her hair will also fade over time, and will probably turn pink. There's also the factor of her brown hair growing back in- lord knows how awful that will look. So if she doesn't keep up with her faux ginger mop, her hair will look more of a disaster than it already is. Furthermore, if she does keep up with it, all that bleach could damage her scalp, causing bleeding and irritation. I know this because it happened to another one of my friends.
In conclusion, the moral of the story is- don't dye you're hair red... Or really any color for that matter. And if you must, then get it done at a salon, and find a way to do it that is healthy for your hair.
Come on, you need a healthy head for all those Delightfully Darling and Dazzling 'Do's!
