Mermaid's Braid

Welcome to Darling Do's. I hope you will enjoy everything this blog has to offer. I love doing my hair, and coming up with new ideas, so I thought I'd share them with you!

This first hairstyle is called the Mermaid's Braid. It works best on longer hair. If you have shorter hair, then do this braid the same way, only french braid it.

You will need:
Lots of bobby pins.
A couple clear hair ties.
A cute bow. (optional)
Hairspray.

You can do this braid to the side of your head or down the back. In this case, we're doing it down the back.

First, seperate your hair into two equal sections. Take one section and secure it loosely with a hair tie. We'll be using this section later. Now take the other section, and braid it normally down your back, and secure the end. Next, take the other section of hair, and braid it, just like the other one, and secure it.

Now, here's where it gets a little tricky. You want to put those braids together with bobby pins. Take a bobby pin, and push it through the back of one braid, and into the back of another. Do this all the way down the braid, until the two braids look completely combined. Once you get to the bottom, secure both braids with an elastic.

Spray lightly with hairspray, just so fly-aways stay in place. Then take your bow, and apply to about the crown of your head. (As seen in picture.)
